Jonny Wins Composites UK Employee of the Year

Jonny Wins Composites UK Employee of the Year

We are delighted to report that Jonny won the Composites employee of the year award and Jess was runner up in her apprenticeship category.

Composites UK is the trade association for the UK composites industry.  Every year they have an annual Industry Awards to celebrate the achievements of the individual through to collaborative innovations.

Jonny started at MPM back in 2010 when he was just 20 years old. Having had experience in construction, Jonny took the role of laminator in his stride. After a year, he was made Production Leader.

Year on year, he worked as Finishing, Trimming and WPL leader with a natural progression to Plant Leader. Creating a strong team alongside him with Robbo on Chopper, Danny on Production, Liam on WPL, Kaylie in the Pattern Shop and Beka in Finishing.  Now Jonny also runs the stock, works orders, runs health and safety meetings as well as taking on additional roles and responsibilities from Ben. It is very clear that Jonny lives the MPM values – Quality, Reliable, Innovate, Team and Leader in all that he does and we are delighted that this has been recognised externally too.

“Jonny has been a huge part of the MPM success story and I have no doubt he will continue to support the whole team onto further success.”  - Ben Wilson, Business Leader.

Jessica Sugden, our Purchasing Coordinator, was runner up for Apprentice of the Year. Jess started as an apprentice and completed a level 3 Diploma in Business Administration and has gone on to another course from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, level 4 Diploma.

Jess also does lots of outreach work in schools and colleges talking about manufacturing and her experience as an apprentice. Jess is a valued member of the team at MPM and we are pleased she was recognised and shortlisted for the role she has created and made her own.
